U.S. negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner may visit the Russian Federation — an aggressor state — and Ukraine on Saturday and Sunday. Asharq Al-Awsat reports this, citing an unnamed source quoted by TASS.
A visit to Kyiv is still being discussed
There was no official confirmation of the trip at the time of publication. According to the publication's source, discussions of a visit by U.S. representatives to Ukraine were ongoing, with September 6 considered as a possible date.
If Witkoff and Kushner arrive in Kyiv, it will be their first visit to the Ukrainian capital. The source also claims that the Russian side does not want them to visit Kyiv and is trying to change this plan.

Previous meeting in Moscow
Witkoff and Kushner are involved in efforts to conclude a peace agreement on Ukraine. They last visited Moscow in January and held four hours of overnight talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin, Reuters reported.
Russia and Ukraine retain substantial differences over the terms for ending the war. Putin has repeatedly demanded that Ukraine give up additional territories, while Ukraine rejects conditions it considers tantamount to capitulation. The latest U.S.-mediated talks between Russia and Ukraine took place in February.
