Enemy drone strikes children’s sanatorium in Kharkiv
On the night of 13 January, Russian occupying forces carried out an attack on Kharkiv using drones.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that a strike was recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi district, hitting a children’s sanatorium and causing a fire.
In addition, explosions were heard on the outskirts of the city during a morning attack, the mayor also noted.
“A Shahed drone hit a children’s sanatorium in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. There is a fire at the site,” Terekhov wrote.
The attack was part of ongoing shelling of the city that has continued since the beginning of the year.
According to the first comprehensive assessment by European governments for 2025, the Russian Federation has significantly intensified attacks on Ukraine’s civilian population following the start of efforts by the US President to end the war.
Over the past week, the Russian army has carried out 44 large-scale strikes per day on Ukraine’s energy facilities and critical infrastructure.
