Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders have killed 1,440 Russian occupiers. As of September 1, 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has updated the figures on Russian military losses.
As of September 1, Russia has lost the following in the war against Ukraine:
- personnel—approximately 1,489,640 (+1,440) individuals;
- tanks – 12,320 (+4);
- armored combat vehicles – 25,257 (+2);
- artillery systems – 48,954 (+71);
- multiple-launch rocket systems – 2,079 (+0);
- air defense systems – 1,597 (+0);
- aircraft – 440 (+0);
- helicopters – 354 (+0);
- ground-based robotic systems – 2,452 (+10) units;
- operational-tactical UAVs – 492,177 (+1,775) units;
- cruise missiles – 5,060 (+0) units;
- ships/boats – 35 (+0);
- submarines – 2 (+0) units;
- Vehicles and tanker trucks – 142,332 (+412) units;
- special equipment – 4,623 (+2) units.

Earlier, Russia attacked a facility in Novhorod-Siverskyi.
As a reminder, one person was killed and eight were wounded in a massive attack on the Kyiv region.
Russia also launched a massive missile attack on Kyiv overnight, resulting in fatalities.
