Russian Z-blogger and Ka-52 pilot Alexei Zemtsov (“Voevoda Veshchaet”), who had announced his intention to take his own life the day before, is likely still alive.
This is reported by Russian Telegram channels and pro-war bloggers.
According to their reports, law enforcement officers searched Zemtsov’s apartment but did not find a body there. Meanwhile, he has not been in contact with his relatives, and security forces have launched a search for him.
There are also reports that the blogger had previously left his military unit without permission.
Zemtsov’s ex-wife stated that he “had no intention of taking his own life” and accused him of embezzling funds from a military fundraiser.
Similar accusations were made by representatives of the Z-communities where he previously worked, claiming that the blogger was suspended due to misuse of funds.
The day before, Zemtsov had published videos in which he announced his intention to commit suicide, citing pressure from his commanders over his critical posts.
