Since the start of the year, Russia has attacked Ukraine’s energy sector 217 times — Svyrydenko

Since the beginning of the year, 217 Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector have been recorded, and services continue to deal with the consequences of the mass strikes.

This was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

“Energy workers, utilities, and railway staff continue to eliminate the consequences of mass attacks on energy infrastructure. In total, only since the start of this year, 217 Russian attacks on our energy sector have been recorded,” she wrote on Telegram.

Svyrydenko emphasised that the government continues to provide comprehensive support during this emergency in the energy sector.

“Energy workers, who restore our power system around the clock, will receive bonus payments of up to 20,000 hryvnias per month for work in emergency brigades,” the Prime Minister added. The first payments will be credited to salary cards this month.

She also noted that the government, together with state-owned companies, is providing targeted assistance to people with disabilities and single pensioners.

According to Svyrydenko, the first 10,000 ‘Heat Packages’, provided by the Naftogaz Group, have already reached residents of the Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Desnianskyi districts of Kyiv, as well as Brovary and Boryspil in Kyiv Oblast. The packages contain items for warmth, communication support, and medical device charging.

“We are expanding this support further, involving other major state-owned companies: Energoatom, Ukrenergo, and Ukrhydroenergo. They will provide additional Heat Packages to communities across Ukraine where electricity and heating supply remain difficult,” the Prime Minister stated.
