On August 9, 2026, 254 combat engagements were recorded along the front lines. Ukrainian forces continue to repel the Russian offensive, inflicting losses on the enemy in terms of personnel and equipment.
Over the past day, Russian troops launched one missile strike using nine missiles and carried out 87 airstrikes, during which they dropped 278 guided bombs. In addition, the occupiers deployed 10,295 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,193 shelling attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces and populated areas.
Artillery shelling targeted Korenok, Studenok, Vintorivka, Volfyne, Iskryskivshchyna, Ulanove, Kucherivka, Mala Slobidka, Nova Huta, Neskuchne, Vilna Sloboda, Rohizne, Luzhky, Hirky, Bachivsk, Sopych, Tovstodubove, and Simeychyne in Sumy Oblast, as well as Halahanivka in Chernihiv Oblast.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ air force, missile forces, and artillery struck seven areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, two ammunition depots, four command posts, and four drone control centers.
Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy assaults in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. At the same time, the enemy carried out an airstrike using three guided bombs and fired 51 times on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks. The invaders attempted to advance in the areas of Starytsia, Vovchansk, Lyman, and Artilne, as well as in the directions of Izbytske, Volokhivka, Kupyne, Khatne, Ukrainsk, Berezniki, and Ambarne.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops carried out two attacks in the area of Petropavlivka and toward Novoplatonivka.
On the Lyman front, the occupiers attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 30 times, attacking in the directions of Drobysheve, Lyman, Dibrova, and Ozernoye, as well as in the areas of Novoyegorivka, Novoselivka, Torske, and Yampil.In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy carried out seven assaults in the area of Riznykivka and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka. In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupiers attacked three times in the area of Nykyforivka and toward Yurkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy carried out 31 attacks in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Rusyno Yar, as well as in the directions of Dovha Balka and Mykolaypillya. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 26 enemy attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Molodetske, as well as in the directions of Kuchero-Yar, Novy Shakhovyi, Novohryshyne, Shevchenko, Svitlyi, Serhiivka, Muravka, Matyasheve, and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the invaders carried out three attacks in the directions of Danilivka and Novoye Zaporozhye.
On the Huliaipole sector, the occupiers attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 21 times. The enemy attempted to advance toward Vozdvizhivka, Hirky, Staroukrainka, Huliaipole, Rivne, and Tsvitkove.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attempts to advance toward Primorske and in the Plavni area. In the Dnipro sector, the enemy did not conduct any assault operations over the past day. In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were detected.

As a reminder, on Friday, August 7, in Dnipro, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse was destroyed as a result of an attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.
Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers lost 1,130 troops and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.
