720 Russian troops killed on the front line over the past day

On Thursday, 5 February, Ukrainian defenders killed a further 720 Russian occupying troops. As a result, the total combat losses of the enemy since the start of the full-scale invasion are estimated at approximately 1,244,560 personnel.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its latest update.

According to the report, Russian forces also lost:

  • six tanks, bringing total wartime losses to 11,648 units;
  • 11 armoured combat vehicles — 24,007 units in total;
  • 39 artillery systems — 37,014 units;
  • one multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) — 1,637 units;
  • two air defence systems — 1,295 units;
  • 826 operational and tactical-level UAVs — 125,920 units;
  • 162 vehicles and fuel tankers — 77,311 units;
  • one piece of special equipment — 4,063 units.

It was also recalled that an assassination attempt was carried out in Moscow against senior Russian Defence Ministry general Vladimir Alexeyev, who holds the position of Deputy Head of the GRU.

During January 2026, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reportedly eliminated more than 30,000 Russian troops.

Ukrainian defenders also killed Aleksei Almatov, a freestyle wrestling coach and Master of Sport of Russia, during combat operations.
