Over the past 24 hours, as of August 2, 234 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops. According to the General Staff, Russian forces launched two missile strikes using 31 missiles and carried out 91 airstrikes, dropping 298 guided bombs.
In addition, the enemy deployed 11,083 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,343 shelling attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions. The area around the village of Zelenyi Hai in Sumy Oblast was targeted by an airstrike. At the same time, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck 15 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, a drone control center, and a Russian military command and observation post.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian forces repelled four assaults. Meanwhile, the Russians carried out four airstrikes using 12 guided bombs and fired 61 rounds at Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including four rounds from multiple-launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhansky sector, the Defense Forces repelled 21 Russian attacks. The invaders attempted to advance in the areas of Starytsia, Digtyarne, Izbytske, and Kozacha Lopana, as well as in the directions of Volokhivka, Radkivka, and Ivashchyne.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 enemy attacks in the areas of Lyman, Dibrova, Ozerny, and Novomykhailivka, as well as in the directions of Drobysheve, Novosergiivka, Andriivka, Shyikivka, and Novoselivka.

In the Sloviansk sector, Russian troops carried out 18 assaults in the areas of Zakitne, Kryva Luka, and Riznykivka, as well as in the direction of Rai-Oleksandrivka.

On the Kramatorsk front, Russian forces launched three attacks in the directions of Pryvilne and Yurkivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 19 attacks were recorded. Russian troops carried out assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Ivanopillia, as well as in the directions of Raiske, Rusyn Yar, and Stepanivka.

The enemy was most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian forces repelled 27 attacks. Russian forces operated in the areas of Bilytske, Rodynske, and Kotlyne, and also launched assaults in the directions of Sofiivka, Novopavlivka, Kuchero-Yar, Vilne, Novoye Shakhovoye, Shevchenko, Novogrishino, Gulivoye, and Udachnoye.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian troops carried out four attacks in the directions of Myrne and Rybne.

On the Huliaipole sector, the invaders attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 14 times. Fighting continued in the Zaliznychne and Hirke areas, as well as in the directions of Charivne, Vozdvizhivka, and Tsvitkove.

In the Kupiansk, Orikhiv, and Dnipro sectors, Russian troops did not carry out any assault operations. In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were detected.

As a reminder, over the past day, the Russian army lost another approximately 1,500 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. As of August 2, the total losses of Russian personnel since the start of the full-scale invasion have reached approximately 1,449,120 people.
On the night of August 1, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 133 strike and decoy drones of various types. Air defense forces neutralized 109 enemy drones, but strikes were recorded at 19 locations.
