Zelensky names main shortage in air defense and talks about Ukrainian missiles

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is experiencing an acute shortage of missiles for its air defense systems.

The president made this remark at a closed meeting with journalists, according to Glavcom.

He said that Western aid deliveries are generally proceeding according to plan, but the intensity of Russian attacks far exceeds Ukraine’s stockpiles.

The head of state emphasized that partners urge Ukraine to “hold on” and “not make concessions,” but for that, real means of protecting the skies are needed—not just political support.

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine consistently communicates a simple demand to its allies: increase the supply of air defense missiles. He explained that Russia “fires more,” which makes the shortage of air defense ammunition even worse.

The president noted that Ukraine is ready to continue defending itself but expects more decisive reinforcement of air defense systems from its partners.

Separately, Zelensky spoke about the development of domestic missile weapons for strikes deep into enemy territory. According to him, Ukrainian missiles are achieving increasingly better results, with the hit rate rising month by month.

In particular, the president highlighted the positive performance of the “Neptune” and “Flamingo” missiles, which are already being successfully used on the front line.

It is worth noting that Zelensky is ready to hold elections and a referendum on the peace agreement simultaneously.

He also explained how the reconstruction of Ukraine will be funded.
