Zelenskyy Discussed the Supply of Interceptors for the Patriot System with the U.S. Ambassador to NATO
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker and Lieutenant General Curtis Bazzard, commander of NATO’s Special Mission for Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine. During the meeting, they primarily discussed increasing the supply of interceptors for the Patriot system under the PURL program.
Zelenskyy announced the meeting on social media, according to “European Truth.” He said the parties also discussed the bilateral defense partnership between Ukraine and the U.S.
In particular, they discussed the implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision, made in Ankara, to grant Ukraine a license to manufacture Patriot systems. The participants also discussed the “Drone Deal,” which the teams are currently working on.
“This has real potential, and we hope to finalize it soon,” Zelenskyy noted. The President of Ukraine also awarded Curtis Bazzard the Order of Merit, Third Class.
Earlier, Trump stated that the U.S. would grant Ukraine the right to manufacture Patriot systems. Zelenskyy subsequently reported that technical work must begin to implement the political agreement.
