Zelensky signs decree awarding 392 service members, including 193 posthumously

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree awarding 392 service members with state honors for the courage and heroism demonstrated in defending Ukraine’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The corresponding decree No. 923/2025 dated December 11 was published on the website of the head of state.

Among those honored, 193 received awards posthumously — nearly half of the total number.

According to the decree, 381 service members were awarded the Order “For Courage” (III class). Another 11 defenders received the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Order (III class) for their special contribution to strengthening the country’s defense capability.
All the awards were given for personal bravery, dedication, and high professionalism demonstrated in the fight against the Russian occupiers.

Among the awardees are soldiers from various units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who carried out combat missions on the hottest sections of the front.
They took part in repelling enemy attacks, liberating settlements, and holding strategically important positions. Many of them saved their comrades at the cost of their own lives and prevented the enemy from advancing.

As a reminder, Zelensky’s visit to Berlin is expected on December 15.
