Zelenskyy promised a just response to the massive attack on Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that there will undoubtedly be a just response to the massive strikes Russia launched on the night of May 14.
Despite the high effectiveness of Ukraine’s air defense, which destroyed over 93% of enemy targets, hits and casualties were reported in several regions.
During the nighttime attack, the enemy deployed hundreds of strike drones and various types of missiles, including ballistic ones.
Overall, air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the air attack vehicles, but protection against ballistic missiles remains the most difficult challenge for Ukraine’s airspace.
“Still, a significant number of missiles and drones were shot down during these attacks. The overall interception rate is over 93%. Of course, it needs to be higher. And, of course, the most difficult part is defending against ballistic missiles. Thank you to everyone who is helping us with this,” the president wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to official data, residents of Kyiv, Kharkiv, and the Odesa and Kyiv regions felt the effects of the terror.
In the capital, an entrance to a nine-story building was completely destroyed after being hit by an enemy drone; five people are known to have died and over 40 were injured, while more than 10 others are still missing.
The death toll from the Russian strike on Kyiv has risen to five
