Zelenskyy said there are disagreements within Putin's inner circle regarding the war

There is no consensus within Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s inner circle regarding the continuation of the war against Ukraine. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, some members of the Russian leadership are calling for a cessation of hostilities and the search for ways to end the conflict.

A rift in the Kremlin: who wants to stop the war

There is no unity among the Russian dictator’s inner circle regarding the war’s future. According to Zelenskyy, some people close to the Kremlin leader advocate continuing hostilities, while others support ending them.

He specifically noted the position of Russian business leaders.

"Businessmen understand that the Russian economy is in terrible shape," the president said.

Three conditions for peace

Zelenskyy outlined specific steps that would bring the war closer to an end:

  • The West—Europe, Canada, and the U.S.—is not lifting sanctions and is putting pressure on Russia’s shadow fleet and other sectors of the economy;

  • Ukraine remains strong on the battlefield;

  • Pressure on Russia is intensifying on all fronts.

"If Western countries do not lift sanctions, intensify pressure on Russia’s shadow fleet and other sectors, and Ukraine remains strong on the battlefield, we will be closer to peace," he emphasized.

Regarding the negotiations in general, Kyiv’s position remains unchanged.

"In any case, we are ready to talk, but we will not give up our territory," the president stressed.
