Celebrities shared how they survived Russia's massive attack on Kyiv

On the night of June 2, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, targeting several cities, including Kyiv.

Ukrainian celebrities who were in the capital during the shelling shared their experiences and photos from shelters.

TV host Lesya Nikityuk was in a shelter with her son during the nighttime attack. She posted a photo of herself sitting next to a stroller, and in the morning asked her followers if they had already left their shelters after the anxious night.

The night was no less difficult for Maria Yefrosinina, who was hiding in the subway with her son. The host shared a photo from the station and expressed her emotions.

“The contrasts of life we didn’t ask for—it’s terrifying to open the news, Yefrosinina wrote.

TV host Grigory Reshetnik also described the night he spent in the capital and expressed his support for all those affected.

“It was, as always, very loud. But even after the darkest night, dawn comes. Gratitude to our Defense Forces. We are living in difficult times, but we must hold on so as not to fall and to stand firm. Sincere condolences to the victims, the showman noted.

His wife, Khristina Reshetnik, also reacted to the attack.

“It’s just a nightmare. I wish they could hear such sounds overhead in the swamps too, she wrote on her blog.

Showman Anatoliy Anatolich showed how his family weathered the danger. The children slept right on the floor in the apartment’s hallway.

“The kids are sleeping in the hallway. I hope you’re safe. It’s very loud here. Russia, I hate you. And it seems even louder. Though how much louder can it get? the host shared.

Actress and TV host Lilia Rebrik showed the aftermath of the attack at one of the capital’s photo studios. That’s where a scheduled photo shoot with her was supposed to take place.

The blast wave shattered the panoramic windows inside the building and damaged the sets and props.

“Today, a very tender photo shoot with an incredible family was supposed to take place! With beautiful dresses, flowers, butterflies… But never mind! We’ll bounce back!” the post reads.

Singer Nadiya Dorofeeva also briefly commented on the night she had just experienced.

“What a night. Kyiv…, the artist wrote.

Choreographer Yevgen Kot reported that Russian missiles flew over his house multiple times during the attack.

“A dozen have already flown right over the house, and all of them landed somewhere nearby. The house is shaking. May every one of those who gives the order and launches this crap be buried under the same crap!” he reacted emotionally.

Meanwhile, actor Dmytro Stupka, who currently lives in the U.S., shared footage from the Kyiv metro, where his mother was during the air raid alert. The video shows a large number of Kyiv residents who had taken shelter in the subway to escape the intense Russian shelling.

The nighttime attack once again demonstrated that the war affects every Ukrainian, regardless of profession or status. Many well-known people spent the night in shelters alongside other residents of the capital, and some faced the consequences of the destruction firsthand.
