An unexploded missile warhead fell on the grounds of a kindergarten in the Obolonskyi district
As a result of a massive nighttime attack by Russian occupiers on the night of June 2, 2026, damage was reported to industrial facilities and one unfinished building in the Obolon district of the capital.
In addition, an unexploded enemy munition fell on the grounds of a local kindergarten, causing serious concern among residents.
Emergency services and bomb disposal experts immediately began work at the sites where the debris fell to address the consequences of yet another terrorist attack by the Russian Federation.
District Head Kirilo Fesyk quickly reassured the concerned residents of the capital regarding the current situation with the preschool, which had caused the most alarm among Kyiv residents on social media.
“Everyone was very concerned by the news of an enemy shell falling on the grounds of a preschool. This is indeed true. Fortunately, it was an enemy munition shot down by air defense forces that did not detonate,” the head of the Obolon District State Administration in Kyiv officially stated.
On the grounds of the affected kindergarten, experts are awaiting the prompt completion of the bomb squad’s thorough work.
Immediately afterward, all dangerous debris and the consequences of the impact will be completely cleared by municipal services, allowing the facility to resume normal operations as early as tomorrow.
According to the head of the District State Administration, no significant damage or destruction of buildings has been reported in the residential sector of the Obolon District at this time.
The enemy’s main strike fell directly on the local industrial zone and a high-rise building that developers had not yet officially commissioned.
District authorities are already actively preparing an official appeal to Kyiv City Council members to immediately allocate the necessary funding at the next session for the rapid restoration of damaged facilities.
Due to significant destruction and large-scale fires on the territory of industrial enterprises, a strong smell of burning may linger in the air in the district for some time.
This was reported by Kirilo Fesyk, head of the Obolon District State Administration in Kyiv.
