The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to fully carry out the tasks of the defensive operation in accordance with the approved plan. The command emphasized that any potential ceasefire must be mutual and cannot be implemented unilaterally.
The agency noted that Ukrainian servicemen are not currently ceasing to carry out the assigned tasks of the defensive operation.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to carry out their assigned tasks to defend Ukraine in accordance with the plan,” the Armed Forces’ Main Communications Directorate reported.
Thus, Ukrainian troops continue to operate in accordance with the defense plan, despite discussions of a possible cessation of hostilities.
The command emphasized that a ceasefire cannot be unilateral or asymmetrical.
According to a representative of the agency, a unilateral ceasefire would create additional risks for Ukrainian servicemembers.
“A ‘ceasefire’ cannot be unilateral or asymmetrical; otherwise, it would pose a danger to the lives and health of our servicemen. Therefore, the objectives of the defensive operation are currently being fully carried out,” the spokesperson added.
Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are continuing their defensive operation in full, and a ceasefire, according to the Ukrainian command, is possible only if both sides mutually observe it.
