The Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated 970 invaders and a Russian air defense system in the past day
The total combat losses of Russian forces from 24 February 2022 to 20 February in the war against Ukraine amount to approximately 1,257,880 personnel. Over the past day alone, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers eliminated 970 invaders.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
According to the military, the total losses of the Russian army also include:
- 11,684 (+2) tanks;
- 24,060 (+6) armoured combat vehicles;
- 37,387 (+3) artillery systems;
- 1,649 (+0) multiple launch rocket systems;
- 1,303 (+1) air defence systems;
- 435 (+0) aircraft;
- 347 (+0) helicopters;
- 138,881 (+551) operational-tactical level UAVs;
- 4,314 (+0) cruise missiles;
- 29 (+0) ships and boats;
- 2 (+0) submarines;
- 79,112 (+76) vehicles and fuel tankers;
- 4,073 (+1) units of special equipment.
The General Staff noted that the figures are being clarified.
Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has been ongoing since 24 February 2022, and the losses of the occupying forces continue to grow daily.
Ukraine’s Defence Forces continue to hold back Russian troops on the Pokrovsk axis. As of 19 February, since the beginning of the day, 98 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and Russian occupying forces have been recorded at the front, the General Staff reported.
The Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest sector of the front, according to the General Staff.
Earlier, the Defence Forces recorded the most active actions by Russian troops on the Huliaipole axis, where more than two dozen assault attempts by the enemy took place.
The Russian army has also intensified offensive operations on the Slobozhanskyi axis, aiming to form a so-called “security belt” along the Ukrainian border area.
