Adewale Ajadi outlines the Afrilition concept in a Premium Times column
Nigerian lawyer, creative consultant and leadership expert Adewale Ajadi outlined the concept of Afrilition as a vision of the future for the Pan-African world in a column for Premium Times Nigeria. The author links it to community building, responsibility toward future generations and the rejection of models of competition and exploitation.
Building systems for well-being
According to Ajadi's definition, Afrilition should shift attention from responding to injustice to building systems that will support the well-being of African societies. In his view, focusing solely on responding to colonial and extractive models distracts from developing new approaches to prosperity.
The author contrasts this concept with the world order which, he believes, is based on conquest and hierarchy. He writes that Afrilition entails purposeful development, discipline in production and awareness of the consequences of one's own actions.

Diversity and responsibility
Ajadi calls Africa's genetic and cultural diversity the basis for a special responsibility for the future of humanity. At the same time, he stresses that he does not regard this as an argument for superiority over others. In his view, accepting this responsibility should encourage not only the accumulation of material wealth, but also the building of communities in which collective human dignity will be strengthened.
The author notes that Afrilition should expand opportunities and be based on cooperation rather than competition. He also links the concept to restoring interdependence and communality as an alternative to individualism and exploitation.
