Asantehene returns to Ghana after visit to the US
Asantehemaa Nana Yaa Akyaa II met Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II after his return to Ghana from the United States. The meeting took place at Manhyia, MyJoyOnline reports.

During his trip to the United States, the Asantehene took part in a number of events, including the sixth Akwasidae Festival. The festival was held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Bowie State University in Maryland.

The event brought together traditional leaders, representatives of royal families, honored guests and members of the Ghanaian diaspora. Festival participants celebrated the culture, heritage and unity of the Asante people.
Meeting in Kumasi
After Otumfuo Osei Tutu II returned, thousands of residents took to the main streets of Kumasi to welcome him. Many people wore traditional Asante colors, waved flags and greeted the Asantehene as he traveled through the city.
