Bodies of four people found near the Bahamas after plane disappears
The bodies of four family members who were aboard a small plane that disappeared during a flight from Great Harbour Cay to Miami have been found near the Bahamas. This was reported by Global News Canada, citing the family’s relative Sylvia Larrie.
Search near Andros Island
According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the plane departed on Monday from Great Harbour Cay, located in the northern part of the Bahamian archipelago, and was headed to Miami Executive Airport in Miami-Dade County. Air traffic controllers lost contact with the aircraft about 13 miles west of Andros Island.
The Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association was informed about the missing plane. According to police, the U.S. Coast Guard attempted to conduct a search, but it was postponed due to unfavorable weather until conditions improved.
Larrie said that relatives in boats recovered the bodies from the water. According to her, the family is working with the U.S. Coast Guard to bring the deceased home.

Investigation into the circumstances
Bahamas police said that the recovered human remains are in their custody and are being transported to New Providence. Law enforcement officers have also formed a team for a comprehensive investigation.
According to Larrie, the plane was piloted by her 80-year-old uncle, Mario Lamar, who had more than 40 years of flying experience and regularly flew to the Bahamas. Also aboard were his 79-year-old wife, Lily Lamar, and two grandchildren — 22-year-old Christian Sosa and 28-year-old Sophie Sosa.
The Bahamas Air Accident Investigation Authority said that neither the aircraft itself nor any related wreckage or other fragments have yet been found. The agency is coordinating the investigation with the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and other authorities. The cause and factors of the incident have not yet been established.
