A shooting occurred near the Israeli consulate in Istanbul — Reuters
A prolonged gunfight broke out in Istanbul's financial district near the high-rise building housing the Israeli consulate.
This was reported by Reuters.
During the armed attack, police killed two assailants; another person was seriously injured.
The incident occurred on Tuesday directly outside the tower where the diplomatic mission is based.
Eyewitnesses report that the active phase of the clash lasted at least 10 minutes.
As a result of the firefight, the bodies of two dead militants were left on the surrounding streets and lawns. Local media also report that two police officers who participated in repelling the attack were wounded.
As a reminder, a terrorist group that appeared out of nowhere has launched attacks across Europe.
Norwegian police are also investigating an explosion near the U.S. Embassy in Oslo.
