The White House announced the resumption of tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz

White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett reported that shipping traffic in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz is gradually stabilizing.

Gassett made this statement in an interview with CNBC.

According to him, oil tankers are returning to their usual routes, indicating that Iran’s actions have had a limited impact on global economic processes and U.S. energy security. The Donald Trump administration is optimistic about a swift resolution to the conflict, expecting that active supplies of raw materials to oil refineries will resume within a few weeks after the cessation of hostilities.

While Russia is attempting to exploit the destabilization in the Middle East to promote its own oil in Asian markets, Washington emphasizes the convergence of U.S. and Chinese interests regarding energy stability. Gassett did not rule out the possibility of a meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping to coordinate efforts after the conflict ends. Despite the refusal of some allies, notably France, to participate in operations to unblock the strait, the U.S. continues to closely monitor the situation, viewing the current dynamics as a signal toward restoring market equilibrium.

The resumption of traffic through this key maritime route is critical for global fuel prices, which have fluctuated sharply due to the threat of mining and attacks. The U.S. administration emphasizes that attempts to block the strait have failed to achieve their goal, and the global economy has proven more resilient to risks than analysts had predicted. The expected stabilization of oil supplies will be the main factor in reducing tensions on international exchanges and will contribute to further diplomatic resolution of the situation in the region.

As a reminder, Germany rejected Trump’s demand to participate in the operation in the Strait of Hormuz.
