Charneck accused the Polish government of inaction following the attack in Wrocław
Przemysław Czarnek, deputy chairman of the Polish opposition party “Law and Justice,” criticized the government following an attack on a 30-year-old Polish woman in Wrocław. An 18-year-old Ukrainian citizen has been detained in connection with the case and is suspected of attempted murder, according to “European Truth,” citing Onet.
The knife attack took place on Saturday. The victim is in the hospital in life-threatening condition. Police detained the suspect immediately after the incident.
On Sunday, Czarnek stated on the social media platform X that Poland must have effective tools to protect its citizens. “In Poland, every visitor must follow our rules and respect our laws. Anyone who violates them and threatens the safety of Poles must expect consequences,” he wrote.

The politician also accused Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Sejm Speaker Włodzimierz Czastowy of inaction regarding a bill he introduced in mid-April. According to Czarnik, the adoption of the bill would make it possible to more effectively deport individuals who do not comply with the law.
Karolina Halecka, a spokesperson for the Polish Ministry of the Interior, responded that the Ukrainian citizen was detained immediately after the attack, and that foreigners who violate the law are “deported immediately.” She stated that in 2025, more than 10,000 people were deported from Poland, whereas during the “Law and Justice” party’s time in power, two to three thousand people were deported each year.
The Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław condemned the incident, which resulted in serious bodily injury to a Polish citizen.
