Ghana parliamentary committee member Fordjour accuses authorities of ignoring cocaine intelligence — MyJoyOnline
In Ghana, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, a member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, said that the government ignored intelligence which, according to him, he had provided regarding a recent cocaine seizure linked to the country. In his view, ignoring this information could embolden drug traffickers operating in Ghana.
Statement by the parliamentarian
According to MyJoyOnline, Fordjour spoke on Saturday on the Newsfile programme on JoyNews. He claims that he provided the government with information related to the drug case. At the same time, the government has not disclosed or confirmed details of the intelligence referred to by the parliamentarian.

Cocaine seizure in France
Fordjour’s comments came after French customs seized nearly 3.9 tonnes of cocaine at the port of Dunkirk. The drugs were found in a container shipped from Ghana. The seizure raised questions about how the cargo passed export controls in Ghana.
