CI Guarantee unveils guarantees for overseas construction in Seoul — Korea Herald

South Korean organization CI Guarantee presented guarantee services for overseas construction projects at the Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference 2026 in Seoul. This was the institution’s fourth consecutive participation in an international infrastructure event, Korea Herald reports.

Consultations for construction companies

The conference ran from Tuesday through Thursday. It was hosted by South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and organized by the International Contractors Association of Korea. The event brought together international project owners, multilateral development banks and construction companies to discuss infrastructure cooperation and support the development of overseas projects.

CI Guarantee organized a consultation booth for Korean construction companies. It provided information on guarantee options for overseas projects and procedures for arranging international guarantees. The organization also presented its experience and system for handling overseas guarantees, seeking to expand support for Korean contractors in foreign markets.

Guarantees via SWIFT

During individual meetings with international project clients, CI Guarantee representatives exchanged information on projects involving Korean companies and discussed market conditions in the Middle East, Europe and Asia.

The organization established a system for arranging overseas guarantees based on SWIFT and cooperates with 14 Korean and international financial institutions to support the issuance of bank guarantees. According to CI Guarantee, as of the first half of 2026, the amount of its outstanding overseas guarantees exceeded 4 trillion won.

Acting CI Guarantee President Choi Woon-ku said that the institution intends to strengthen its stability and expertise as a global guarantee organization and expand its capacity to support Korean companies carrying out construction projects abroad.
