A German lawmaker stated that Russian involvement in the incident in Leipzig would constitute an act of war
Sebastian Fiedler, a member of the German Social Democratic Party, stated that the government must respond firmly if Russia’s involvement in the incident involving an explosive drone at Leipzig Airport is proven.
According to him, if a Russian connection is confirmed, such an incident could be considered an act of war, requiring a decisive response from Germany.
He said that if Russia is behind it, it would be an “act of war.”
“Either it was Russia, or someone wanted it to look as if Russia was behind it,” Fiedler said.
This incident revealed a “serious gap” in Germany’s capabilities to defend against drones, Fiedler added.
After all, drone defense has been a “priority for the federal interior minister and the state interior ministers” for at least a year and a half, if not longer, he noted.
