The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine reported on Telegram that the Panamanian-flagged vessel was heading to a port in the Odesa region to load metal. A fire broke out on board, which was quickly extinguished by the crew.
A vessel flying the flag of Barbados, which was carrying wheat, was also affected.
Both ships remain seaworthy and have continued on their routes.
"These latest attacks on civilian shipping once again confirm that Russia is deliberately threatening the security of maritime logistics. Despite this, the Ukrainian maritime corridor continues to operate and ensure the export of products and global food security," the Ministry of Development emphasized.
