The wife of Anthropic's CEO approached Epstein regarding an investment in a porn company

Kami Clark, the wife of Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, approached Jeffrey Epstein in 2011–2012 regarding potential investments in her company, which, according to a source, produced erotic content for women. NDTV World reported this, citing The Wall Street Journal and correspondence from Epstein’s files.

According to the publication, in March 2011, literary agent John Brockman introduced Clark and her business partner Michelle Capochefalo to Epstein and suggested they meet for dinner. At that time, Epstein had already been convicted in 2008 on charges of a sex crime and solicitation of prostitution.

The day after the meeting, Clark sent Epstein information about the company’s financing needs. A few days later, she also forwarded the screenplays and creative synopses for the company’s first four films, noting in her email that this material might be of interest to him.

In March 2012, Clark asked Epstein if he was interested in investing in her business and that of a colleague. The correspondence does not confirm that any funding was provided. In one of the individual emails, Epstein replied that he could not get involved in “television sex.” In July 2012, Clark invited him to her housewarming party, but the emails do not indicate that they met in person afterward.

Clark does not hold an official position at Anthropic; however, according to NDTV World, she is described as an advisor and strategic partner to Amodei. The publication also reports that she engages with investors at major industry events. After Anthropic was founded in late 2020, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt became one of the company’s early investors and participated in a $124 million Series A funding round announced in May 2021.
