DTEK shares its expertise in energy security with countries in the Middle East
In May, DTEK is sending its experts to the Middle East to share their experience in protecting energy facilities from air attacks. This involves addressing new threats, including drones and Iranian-made missiles. At the same time, the company is negotiating investments in the Ukrainian energy sector. This was reported by the company’s CEO, Maksym Timchenko.
The Ukrainian energy company DTEK is preparing an international mission of its specialists to the Middle East. In May, energy experts will travel to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, where they plan to discuss and demonstrate practical approaches to protecting critical infrastructure from air attacks.
This primarily involves the experience Ukraine gained during the war, when the power grid has regularly been targeted by missiles and drones. According to company management, this experience is already attracting interest from countries that also face the risk of attacks on energy facilities. “In May, our specialists will visit Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates,” said DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko.
Separately, the company emphasizes that the trip has not only a technical but also an economic dimension. DTEK plans to hold talks with partners in the region regarding the potential attraction of investments into projects in Ukraine, particularly in energy infrastructure that requires restoration and modernization.
Over the past week, Russia has launched massive strikes against Ukraine, using approximately 1,600 drones, nearly 1,100 guided bombs, and several missiles. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the enemy is attempting to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defense systems and continues to attack civilian areas. The shelling has resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population.
