Irena Kilchitskaya, Chernovetskyi's former deputy, may have been detained in Italy — media reports
Several months ago in Italy, law enforcement officials reportedly detained Irena Kilchitskaya, the former deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, who had worked on Leonid Chernovetskyi’s team.
According to media reports, the special operation took place in the resort town of Forte dei Marmi, where the former official had recently been living in a private home.
Currently, there is no official confirmation of this fact from Italian or Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.
Sources report that Kilchitskaya was in Italy with her two young children and a nanny. As of today, the nanny has already been deported from Italy.
Local social services are now forced to address the children’s future and their basic needs.
Irena Kilchitskaya is a well-known political figure who was long part of the inner circle of the capital’s former mayor, Leonid Chernovetskyi. She began her career in the late 1990s at Pravex Bank.
There, she rose through the ranks from head of the Borshchahivka branch to director of the credit department and vice president.
Kilchitska met Chernovetskyi through his first wife, Alina Aivazova, who later became the godmother of her daughter Monika.
She gained public recognition after being appointed deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, where she oversaw trade, healthcare, and funeral services.
In her first year on the job, she was noted for mass layoffs of utility company executives, her influence on the gambling industry, and parking reforms.
In recent years, the former official has led a largely private life.
