Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that he supports U.S. President Donald Trump’s approach to ending the war in Ukraine. At the same time, Ankara will continue to provide military and diplomatic support to Kyiv.

Erdogan said he shares Donald Trump’s vision for establishing peace in Ukraine and supports his peace initiative. “Regarding the war in Ukraine, I share President Trump’s vision for peace and declare my support for his peace initiative for Ukraine,” said the Turkish president.

According to him, Turkey will not stop providing aid to Ukraine. Ankara will continue to support Kyiv not only diplomatically but also militarily. “In addition to the military aid we are providing to Ukraine from our national reserves, we will also continue to contribute within the framework of the PURL initiative,” Erdogan noted.

He also emphasized that Turkey is using its contacts with Russia to help advance negotiations on a peaceful settlement. According to the Turkish president, Ankara is trying to simultaneously support Ukraine and remain a party capable of communicating with Moscow.

Turkey has previously stated on multiple occasions that it is ready to help find a diplomatic solution to end the war.
