Bernam's main rival has declined to run for the leadership of the Labor Party

The last remaining potential rival to Andy Burnham in the race for the leadership of the UK Labour Party has announced that he will not run.

According to British media reports, this strengthens Bernam’s position; he is considered one of the leading contenders to lead the party following Keir Starmer’s possible departure.

His rival’s decision not to run effectively leaves Burnham without one of his main competitors in the internal party race.

Carns was the last to publicly announce his intention to challenge Burnham. Now, the former UK Deputy Minister of Defense for the Armed Forces has stated that he will support Burnham.

Tomorrow marks the start of the nomination period for the Labour Party leadership election, and potential candidates have until next Wednesday to collect the required 81 signatures from fellow MPs.

If no other contenders emerge and Burnham remains the sole candidate, he will become the leader of the Labour Party next Friday and will take office as prime minister on Monday, July 20.

This was announced by Al Carnes, former UK Deputy Minister of Defense for the Armed Forces, on Sky News.

Labour’s Andy Burnham will run for the position of British prime minister.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has informed staff at his office of his final decision to resign.

Within the UK Labour Party, talk has intensified about a possible leadership change and the potential resignation of Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham is considered the leading contender to replace him.

The British Foreign Secretary has called on Starmer to resign.
