A Polish politician provided aid to Russian military personnel; this was described as an unprecedented incident
The controversial Polish politician Krzysztof Tolwinski delivered humanitarian aid to Russian troops. He purchased 20 first-aid kits and called for them to be handed over to the Russian army.
The politician posted a video with this appeal after a trip to Belarus. His actions have already caused a stir, as Tolwiński is known for his anti-Ukrainian statements and support for Alexander Lukashenko’s regime.
Previously, the politician had repeatedly appeared on Belarusian state television channels, criticized Poland’s aid to Ukraine, and was found guilty by a Polish court of inciting ethnic hatred due to offensive remarks about Ukrainians.
This is according to reports in the Belarusian media.
As a reminder, following Russia’s attack, Rutte called on allies to step up aid to Ukraine.
Additionally, the Latvian president called on NATO to strengthen its support for Ukraine despite intimidation from Russia.
At the NATO summit, which will take place on July 7–8 in Ankara, allies plan to approve new long-term commitments to support Ukraine. The draft final declaration provides for 140 billion euros in military aid for 2026–2027 and reaffirms that Russia remains a threat to Euro-Atlantic security.
The NATO summit will discuss the creation of a special tribunal for Russia, according to the Dutch prime minister.
