Putin has ordered the creation of a network of mini-refineries in response to the fuel crisis in Russia
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has endorsed the idea of creating a network of small oil refineries in the country to increase fuel supplies to the domestic market.
The initiative was proposed by Alexander Osipov, governor of the Zabaykalsky Krai, during a meeting with the government. He stated that large oil refineries are at risk of attacks, so he suggested considering the construction of smaller production facilities.
Putin agreed with this proposal and stated that expanding the network of such facilities would allegedly make the fuel system more resilient.
The decision was made against the backdrop of a fuel crisis in Russia, which is linked to a series of strikes by Ukrainian drones on oil refineries. According to analysts’ estimates, gasoline production has also declined due to the reduction in oil refining in the country.
