On September 29, the EU will make another attempt to unblock negotiations with Ukraine following Hungary's veto

On Tuesday, September 29, the EU Council’s Working Group on Enlargement (COELA) will review the results of the screening of negotiation clusters 2 and 3 for Ukraine. Their approval is necessary to move forward toward opening the clusters, a process currently blocked by Hungary’s position.

A “European Truth” correspondent in Brussels learned this from her own sources within the EU Council.

The EU Council will once again attempt to persuade Hungary to allow the opening of clusters 2 and 3 for Ukraine in the EU accession negotiations.

“The issue of Ukraine is first on the agenda of the meeting, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. (11:00 a.m. Kyiv time),” one of “European Truth’s” sources said.

During the meeting, representatives of the member states will once again review the results of the screening for Cluster 2, “Internal Market,” and Cluster 3, “Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth,” which cannot be approved due to Hungary’s opposition.

After discussing the Ukrainian issue, COELA will separately review the screening results for these same clusters regarding Moldova, according to the European Parliament.

In a referendum in Iceland, supporters of negotiations with the EU have taken the lead.

Categories of Ukrainians who may be deported from the EU first have been identified.

Recently, Polish authorities decided to deport a Ukrainian citizen who, while intoxicated, bit a police officer. Due to the injuries sustained, the officer was forced to seek treatment at an infectious disease hospital.

A Ukrainian citizen was deported from Poland following an incident at the Centrum station on the Warsaw Metro. The man threw a backpack onto the tracks and fled, causing the evacuation of several hundred passengers and disruptions to train service.
