Estonia will bolster its military with additional HIMARS systems and long-range artillery

Lockheed Martin will receive a new order from Estonia for three additional HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems.

This was reported by ERR,

The Estonian Defense Investment Center and the American manufacturer have signed an agreement to expand the existing fleet of long-range systems.

Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur emphasized that this decision is part of a long-term plan to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities within NATO.

“This is a targeted and long-term effort that will ensure the fulfillment of NATO’s defense plans. The additional HIMARS systems will provide the Estonian Army and NATO with the necessary capabilities for long-range strikes, significantly strengthening both our individual defense capabilities and deterrence,” he noted.

Under the terms of the contract, the new systems are scheduled for delivery in 2027.

Estonia already received its first six HIMARS systems last spring and is simultaneously expanding its arsenal with other long-range artillery systems—including South Korea’s Chunmoo multiple launch rocket systems.

Thus, the Baltic nation continues its course toward significantly strengthening its missile capabilities and integrating into NATO’s overall defense plans.

Earlier, the U.S. Armed Forces began using M142 HIMARS rocket systems to strike Iranian naval vessels with ATACMS ballistic missiles and the latest high-precision PrSM missiles.
