The European Commission discussed the release of aid to Kyiv with Hungary's new government
A delegation from the European Commission held constructive talks in Budapest with Hungary’s incoming government regarding the country’s funding and ending the blocking of strategic decisions concerning Ukraine.
This was reported by Ukrinform, citing a statement by European Commission Deputy Spokesperson Olof Gill.
The parties are working to advance issues that have long remained stalled, particularly regarding Ukraine’s accession to the EU, a €90 billion loan, and the 20th package of sanctions against Russia.
The European Commission is also facilitating the resumption of oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline, closely monitoring the situation regarding its repair. At the same time, Brussels denied any political blocking of Hungary’s application for a SAFE defense loan, emphasizing that a technical review of the plan is ongoing. Details regarding further progress in relations with Budapest are expected to be released at a later date.
