Europe is bracing for major fuel supply disruptions — Bloomberg
European countries may soon face a serious fuel shortage due to the escalation of the military conflict in Iran.
Wael Sawwan, CEO of the British energy company Shell, issued this official warning during a speech at the CERAWeek international conference, according to Bloomberg.
According to the CEO, the negative consequences of the Middle East conflict are already spreading rapidly across global energy markets.
The crisis initially affected South Asian countries, then spread to the Southeast and Northeast regions, putting significant pressure on logistics.
Experts predict that as April approaches, the destabilization will increasingly affect European consumers directly.
The situation is unfolding according to a scenario that has previously led to significant restrictions on energy supplies in Asian markets.
Shell has already begun active consultations with European government leaders to develop crisis response measures.
“We are trying to work with governments to simply alert them to the various levers they will need to pull, particularly regarding demand,” noted Wael Savan.
As a reminder, Romania has declared a fuel market crisis due to rising prices.
