Finland again restricted flights and shipping in the eastern Gulf of Finland
Early Tuesday morning, the Finnish Defence Forces introduced a temporary restriction zone for aviation and shipping in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland. The military announced this on social media platform X, YLE News reports.
Precautionary measure
According to the Finnish Defence Forces, this step is a precautionary measure. Its purpose is to protect bystanders and ensure conditions for authorities to work while countering possible drones.

The introduced zone simultaneously applies to airspace and maritime traffic in the eastern part of the gulf. The Finnish military said that the restrictions are temporary.
Previous restrictions
Over the past several weeks, flights and maritime traffic in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland have already been restricted repeatedly. As YLE News notes, the previous restrictions were linked to Ukraine's drone attacks on Russia, the aggressor state.
