France has called on European Union countries to step up cooperation and coordination to curb the spread of the hantavirus following an outbreak on a cruise ship.
French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu wrote about this on social media platform X.
According to him, international coordination is essential to prevent the virus from spreading further. He called on neighboring countries to work more closely together and harmonize health protocols within the EU and the Schengen Area.
Le Cornu emphasized that to break potential chains of transmission, it is necessary to exchange information, decisions, and practical experience as quickly as possible.
He also noted that French Health Minister Stéphanie Rist has already contacted her European counterparts to share the measures implemented by the French government.
The Health Center provided advice on how to protect oneself from hantavirus.
