Iran has confirmed to the U.S. its updated terms for ending the war – Reuters

Through diplomatic intermediaries in Pakistan, the Iranian government has conveyed a revised proposal to the United States regarding the resolution of the military conflict in the Middle East. A Pakistani source in government circles confirmed the delivery of the document, emphasizing the critical lack of time for decision-making and the constantly changing conditions on both sides of the process.

Information about the diplomatic move via intermediaries was also officially confirmed by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai, according to Reuters.

The previous peace agreement and ceasefire, concluded in early April 2026, are currently in an extremely fragile state, as U.S. President Donald Trump has previously stated openly. The main contentious issues hindering direct and indirect negotiations remain Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the resumption of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, control of which was previously blocked by Iranian armed forces. Tehran insists on a comprehensive cessation of hostilities on all fronts in the region, including Lebanon, where the conflict between Israel and the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah continues, categorically refusing to discuss its nuclear program until the war is fully concluded.

Among the key demands of the Iranian side outlined in the document are the payment of financial compensation for war damages, the complete lifting of the naval blockade by the U.S. Navy, the provision of legal and security guarantees of non-aggression in the future, as well as the restoration of unimpeded exports of Iranian oil to global markets. At the same time, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baghai added during a weekly press conference that the country is prepared for any possible scenario. He assured that Iran’s military leadership is fully aware of its own defensive capabilities and is capable of responding instantly and appropriately to the slightest tactical mistake or direct threat from the enemy.

The U.S. has demanded that Iran hand over enriched uranium.
