Iran to cancel flights from Tehran to Baghdad and Muscat from Wednesday — Anadolu Agency
Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization announced on Tuesday, September 22, the cancellation, starting early Wednesday, September 23, of flights from Tehran to Baghdad and Muscat in Oman. Anadolu Agency reports.
Restrictions from midnight
Majid Akhavan, spokesperson for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, said that from 00:00 local time, Baghdad and Muscat airports would not accept Iranian flights. The official’s statement was circulated by the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

Flights to Baghdad may be redirected
According to Akhavan, the Iranian side is coordinating and discussing the possibility of directing flights bound for Baghdad to Najaf Airport. He linked the coordination of such a rerouting to the fact that Baghdad Airport will not accept Iranian flights. The statement did not disclose other details regarding the restrictions.
Other international flights, including those to Istanbul, will operate according to schedule, Akhavan said. According to him, no disruptions to these flights have been recorded.
