Israel and Morocco agree to upgrade missions to embassies
Israel and Morocco have agreed to upgrade the status of their diplomatic missions to embassies and appoint ambassadors. The agreement was reached at a trilateral diplomatic summit in New York, United States, attended by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, and US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz.
Diplomatic relations
The summit participants reaffirmed their commitment to steps aimed at upgrading the level of diplomatic relations between Israel and Morocco, as well as advancing the Abraham Accords. A bilateral meeting between Gideon Saar and Nasser Bourita was also scheduled to take place separately on Wednesday.

Economic agreements
Israel and Morocco also agreed to complete work on agreements on investment protection and the avoidance of double taxation by the end of 2026. According to the Jerusalem Post, these documents are expected to promote mutual investment and strengthen economic and business ties between the two countries.
The sides agreed to hold reciprocal high-level visits in the coming months.
