Israel to impose weeklong closure on West Bank — Anadolu Agency
Israeli officials have decided to impose a comprehensive closure on the occupied West Bank and close border crossings to the territory. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the restrictions will remain in effect until Saturday, October 3.
Restrictions due to the Sukkot holiday
As Anadolu Agency reports, citing Wafa, Israeli authorities said the reason for the decision was the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles. According to the agency, the measures involve tighter military restrictions at checkpoints and barriers, limiting Palestinians’ movement and access to holy sites.
