The European Union’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, responded to a statement by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar announcing the suspension of all contacts with her.

Kallas emphasized that the EU and Israel share numerous common interests and underscored the importance of dialogue.

“I highly value our dialogue and cooperation and am ready to continue them ‘respectfully and constructively.’ Dialogue is the foundation of diplomacy, especially when differences arise. The EU always strives for constructive relations with Israel,” she said.

“To establish peace in the Middle East, the two-state solution remains the only viable path. The EU has condemned the illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, which are making it increasingly difficult to achieve this goal. This is the EU’s position,” Kallas emphasized.

She wrote about this on social media platform X.
