Cambodian Red Cross donates $100,000 to China — ECNS
In Cambodia, the Cambodian Red Cross donated $100,000 to support disaster relief efforts in China. The organization’s Secretary-General, Pum Chantiny, handed over the funds to Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin on Wednesday to support the work of the Red Cross Society of China.
Assistance to affected regions
The donation is intended to support humanitarian aid following a landslide at Gyirong Port in the Xizang Autonomous Region in southwestern China, as well as floods in coastal areas in the country’s southeast. ECNS reports on the transfer of the donation.

Second donation since the beginning of the year
This is already the second case since the beginning of the year in which the Cambodian Red Cross has provided financial support for China’s humanitarian efforts. On August 6, the organization also donated $100,000 to respond to natural disasters in southern regions of China.
Wang Wenbin thanked the organization for both donations. According to him, mutual assistance reflects the friendly relations between China and Cambodia. The ambassador also stated that China is ready to cooperate with Cambodia in responding to natural disasters and improving the well-being of the peoples of the two countries.
