Karin Elharrar will not run for the Knesset with Yesh Atid
Knesset member Karin Elharrar said she will not take part in the next parliamentary elections as a candidate for the Yesh Atid party. At the same time, she stressed that she will remain a member of the political force and will participate in its election campaign, The Jerusalem Post reports.
The lawmaker’s decision
Elharrar is among the Knesset members who have represented Yesh Atid for the longest time: she has been with the party since its founding in 2012. In her statement, she thanked party leader Yair Lapid for including her on the founding list and called him a friend and partner.
The lawmaker noted that during her political career, she worked both in the coalition and in the opposition, chaired Knesset committees, served as energy minister, and participated in national and international initiatives. According to her, she also advanced legislative initiatives concerning children and young people from at-risk groups and women’s rights.

Changes in the party
On the eve of the formation of Yesh Atid’s new electoral list, Debbie Biton and Tatiana Mazarsky also announced that they would not run. In a post on X, Yair Lapid also named Meir Cohen and Mickey Levy among the five lawmakers who will not take part in the next elections.
According to Lapid, all five are not leaving Yesh Atid, remain party members, and will work on its election campaign. He criticized the media for reports describing the lawmakers’ decisions as leaving the party.
