Tasnim: Death toll among Iranian military personnel after US strikes rises to at least 13
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on September 3 that six more service members had been killed as a result of US strikes this week. This raised the reported number of Iranian military personnel killed to at least 13, according to the Jerusalem Post.
Fallen service members and pilots
According to Tasnim, six regular army service members, including three pilots, were killed in southern Iran. The agency did not specify the exact location of the strike. The strikes carried out on Tuesday were the largest in several weeks.
Tasnim had earlier reported the deaths of three members of the Basij paramilitary force on Lavan Island in the Gulf. According to the agency, their funeral took place in southern Iran on Wednesday.

IRGC losses
Another four military personnel from the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in western Iran. This was stated in an IRGC statement published on Wednesday. Information about the six regular army service members, three Basij members, and four IRGC personnel brings the total to at least 13 dead.
Iran periodically reports military losses in the conflict that began in late February but has not officially confirmed the total number of military personnel killed. Tasnim also reported that US strikes on southern Iran on Sunday, following a month-long pause in clashes, killed three people. Iran’s Nournews identified two of them as members of the IRGC Navy.
Civilian and US losses
On September 2, an official from Iran’s Ministry of Health said on social network X that 18 people, including four wedding participants, were killed and 142 were injured between August 30 and September 2. The United States reported 18 of its service members killed and more than 750 wounded in this war.
