Several countries have pledged to provide Ukraine with additional air defense capabilities
During an informal meeting of foreign ministers from EU countries and non-EU partners in Ireland, a number of countries pledged to provide Ukraine with additional air defense capabilities.
This was announced by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas. She emphasized that the recent massive strikes on Kyiv demonstrate Russia’s lack of commitment to peace, making it critically important to provide Ukraine with defensive capabilities.
Kallas noted that as part of its financial support, the EU has already allocated the first 8.47 billion euros and approved an additional 6.1 billion euros, part of which will go toward air defense. At the same time, she emphasized the need for bilateral assistance from individual countries. Specific details and the number of interceptor missiles will be announced directly by the countries that have decided to provide them.

The European Union has not adopted any new decisions regarding the transfer of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems to Ukraine. This was stated by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas following an informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Ireland.
As a reminder, European countries have stepped up their search for interceptor missiles for Patriot systems, which they plan to transfer to Ukraine. Kyiv is seeking to strengthen its missile defense ahead of a possible new wave of Russian attacks this winter.
Earlier, Finland explained why it would not transfer Patriot missiles to Ukraine.
