China has called on the U.S. and Iran to engage in negotiations for the sake of peace

Beijing called on Washington and Tehran to resume negotiations as soon as possible to resolve the conflict between the two countries. China emphasized the need to restore peace and stability in the Persian Gulf.

 

This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiaqun at a press briefing.

“The conflict between the United States and Iran is not in the common interests of the parties involved or the international community,” Guo said.

According to him, Washington and Tehran must return to diplomacy and resolve contentious issues in order to restore peace in the Persian Gulf region and the Middle East as a whole.

“China calls on all parties to adhere to the path of peace, resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiations, and promote the earliest possible restoration of peace and stability in the Persian Gulf region and the Middle East as a whole,” the diplomat said, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

As a reminder, Trump welcomed Xi Jinping with a red carpet, just as he had done for Putin in Alaska.

Xi Jinping also stated that China and the U.S. should be partners.
